Ambulatory Care

Due to budget cuts in Thunder Bay, Beardmore is losing its EMS Station, and residents will be forced to have to wait from Nipigon/Red Rock for ambulatory care. BNA, therefore, is looking to host an EMS that can service the region. This would involve identifying a location in the government core area of BNA for this building. It would also mean working with the Municipality of Greenstone and neighbouring First Nation communities to generate support for BNA as the host for this service. Ultimately, however, it is the province that will need to figure out the details for this service, and the funding involved.

This is an on-going issue, and BNA’s Family Well-Being will be leading any future ambulatory care within the First Nation.
