Forestry is one of the most important industries for BNA, and it has been for as long as there was a community at Sand Point. Through Papasay, our First Nation runs the Lake Nipigon Forest with our neighbouring First Nation communities. We also run a Sawmill in our Industrial Park on our reserve, employing our members, and supplying the region with cut lumber. Ensuring that environmentally responsible forestry takes place on the Lake Nipigon Forest continues to be a priority for BNA’s leadership. Ensuring a sustainable forestry operation today will ensure that the land is properly protected for future generations.
