Land-Use Plan (LUP)

BNA has completed its Land Use Plan, a critical part of its land management. BNA’s 5-member Interim Lands Committee assisted in the development of the Plan. The LUP has proper zoning for BNA developments and involved engagement from the membership. Aspects of this Plan will eventually become a law under the BNA Land Code.

Proper Land Use Planning is very important to BNA’s organized development and in avoiding many of the land-related pitfalls that so many other First Nation communities experience. Through proper zoning of its development, BNA can ensure that it moves ahead in a comprehensive manner.

The next step is the development of by-laws for BNA’s LUP, which will be moved through the process by the BNA Lands Committee.
