Namewaminikan Hydro

The Namewaminikan (Sturgeon) River Hydroelectric Project is a 10 MW project located at 2 sites, Long Rapids and Twin Falls. BNA signed an agreement with its First Nation neighbours, BZA and AZA, along with Group Axor, back in 2015. Through this Project, several members were employed; John Johnson and Mike Lesperance became linesmen through Gridlink, and Robbie Deans currently manages the running of the two sites.

BNA receives royalties from this project and is regularly updated on the environmental monitoring of the sites. BNA meets annually with BZA, AZA, and Group Axor representatives to keep the relationship strong between the parties.
